Learn: Bagels with Whole Grains is a hands-on workshop teaching practical skills for baking with regional whole grains.
Instructors Reva Castillenti and Patrick Shaw-Kitch will be sharing techniques and their passion for working with regional grains. Roll, boil, and bake bagels with a nourishing twist. In this class you’ll make bagels using a flavorful whole-grain blend, showcasing the nutrients and complexity that are lost in refined white flour versions. We’ll cover every step of the process, from mixing dough, rolling, boiling and baking. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of whole grains, a warm batch of homemade bagels, and skills you can confidently repeat at home.
Class is held at Brooklyn Granary & Mill at 240 Huntington Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231 and runs for about 2.5 hours, from 6:00 to 8:30pm on Saturday, March 14. Tickets include class instruction and light snacks and drink.
